Role overview and responsibilities

Dhruva Space is seeking an experienced Finance Director to lead the company's financial operations. The ideal candidate must be a Chartered Accountant with a proven track record in financial management, preferably in a manufacturing environment. The role requires hands-on experience in an ERP setting, focusing on financial accounting, taxation, MIS & reporting, budgeting, and compliance. The candidate should be adept at working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders and possess strong leadership skills to manage a team.

This full-time and on-site role, located at the Company’s Headquarters in Hyderabad, provides the opportunity to work with one of India’s leading private Space companies.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conducting financial accounting in accordance with relevant GAAPs.
  • Ensuring the timely closure of monthly and annual accounts.
  • Reporting monthly financials to stakeholders, including the Board.
  • Liaising with internal and statutory auditors to complete audits promptly.
  • Preparing annual budgets, regular forecasts, cash flows, and monthly financial reports with variance analysis.
  • Providing various financial reporting views, such as product-wise or project-wise P&Ls and department-wise reporting.
  • Presenting and discussing financial performance with the company's Leadership, the Board, Investors, and Bankers.
  • Leading initiatives in cost optimization and productivity improvements.
  • Ensuring timely compliance with all Regulatory requirements, including Income Tax, TDS, GST, PF, and Secretarial duties.
  • Responding to demands, notices, and litigation from various authorities;
  • Interacting with Compliance consultants on various matters;
  • Lead the company's Finance team, attract and retain top talent, and strengthen finance processes with best practices for future readiness.
  • Build internal models to ensure real-time and accurate financial information for all stakeholders.
  • Collaborate closely with Product Team, Operations Team, and Strategy and Markets Teams, as well as external consultants to achieve optimal financial outcomes.
  • Keep pace with the organization's growth by working across Accounting, Treasury, and Reporting functions.
  • Over time, develop specialized knowledge of the Space Tech industry, and the operational environment in which the company operates.

Candidate requirements
  • Chartered Accountant with 12+ years of post-qualification experience,
  • Experience in a start-up environment and a large manufacturing organization is preferable
  • Knowledge and experience in Secretarial matters.
  • Proven experience in Investment and Fundraising.
  • Strong understanding of financial concepts and operations related to controllers and tax functions.
  • Mandatory certification in US GAAP & IFRS.
  • Proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Hands-on experience with reporting tools like Hyperion, PowerBI, DOMO, Alteryx, TLM, and ERP.
  • Preferred knowledge in controls surrounding Regulatory Reporting, Regulatory Capital Calculation and Reporting, Legal Entity Financial Reporting, and Tax Reporting.
  • Must be an enthusiastic self-starter, who is detail-oriented, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, and strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Willingness to continuously learn and operate across various functions.
  • Interest in the Space Tech industry and digital assets.
